Marriage & Families
The Council on the American Family supports the preservation of the institution of marriage as conceived by our Creator and practiced throughout all cultures over two thousand years of recorded history. The definition of marriage as a covenant in which “a man [shall] leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife… and they shall be one flesh” (Genesis 2:24) has formed a part of the bodies of state laws and been widely recognized in American jurisprudence. |
Never in the history of pro-family work has such a fundamental issue as marriage and the protection thereof taken on so many complexities and legal entanglements as constitutional and judicial issues were and continue to be - hotly debated. Furthermore, the legal landscape continues to change – even as we write - as one legal challenge after another impacts America from sea to shining sea. |
